    Technical education lures Mahottari women

Women in northern parts of Mahottari district have been attracted towards technical education.

With the establishment of Rara Technical Institute at Bardibas, the main trading center of northern Mahottari, an increasing number of women of Bardibas and Gauribas VDCs are joining in CMA and Lab Assistant courses.

Housewives, who couldn´t get a change to study due to poverty, say the institute has drawn their interest in technical education.
Muna Pokharel of Bardibas-3, who passed SLC 18 years ago, said her dream to study CMA course has come true. Sumitra Adhikari, who was forced to quit study following her marriage while she was an eighth grader in 2051 BS, has joined CMA course after passing SLC exam one year ago along with her son.
According to the institute administration, housewives account for 40 percent of the students. Those mother-cum-students are also helping in spreading awareness about health and social issues.
