    International students Scholarships from University of Arkansas,USA

    Founded in 1871, the University of Arkansas is the state's first land-grant university and the first state university.

    International students Scholarships are offered from University of Arkansas and are highly competitive.Some of the scholarships offered by University of Arkansas for international students are as follows:

    1. Foundation for the International Exchange of Students  (FIES) Scholarship
    The Foundation for the International Exchange of Students(FIES) was incorporated at the University of Arkansas as a non-profit organization in 1949. Since the 1949-50 academic year it has brought more than 400 students from 55 countries to study at the University. FIES support comes from the University, from contributions made by faculty and interested individuals, and from special fund-raising events.

    FIES awards tuition scholarships on a competitive basis to new or returning international students. All recipients of FIES awards are selected by the FIES Scholarship Committee.

    2. The John and Marie Lavallard International Scholarship
    The John and Marie Lavallard International Scholarship Fund shall be awarded annually to an outstanding international student with financial need at the University of Arkansas campus. The scholarship will be utilized for tuition plus room and board, and is a one-year, non-renewable scholarship. Applications should be sent to the International Admissions Office no later than March 15. The Foundation for the International Exchange of Students Executive Committee will review applications and determine the scholarship recipient each April for the Fall Semester.


    Scholarship Selection Criteria

    > Must be a citizen and permanent resident of a country other than the United States.
    > There are no restrictions on field of study.
    > Non-degree seeking and degree seeking applicants will be considered. Applicant must meet all University of Arkansas admission criteria.
    > Applicant must present a clear statement of objectives to be achieved with the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville
    > Preference will be given to applicants not currently in the United States. Scholarship provides a tuition award and room & board.
