NOC for those going abroad to study soon: Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has stated that it will soon issue No Objection Certificate (NOC) to students who want to study abroad. NOC was stopped as soon as the lockdown started.

"Only students studying abroad have been given NOC after the lockdown," said Ram Sharan Sapkota, joint secretary at the ministry's higher education division. We are waiting for the decision. '

According to Joint Secretary Sapkota, the ministry is continuing its meticulous study on the consequences of issuing new NOCs, whether the students can go to study or not, and what to do in case of immediate rescue. "Once the students are sent abroad, they have to go again," he said. "The NOC should be opened soon." But there are discussions at the top level about whether parents and students will drown. '

According to the Foreign Study Permit Branch, 33,022 people have taken NOC from July 1 to July 11 this year. This number of NOC takers is half of the last financial year.

Last year, 63,259 people had taken NOC. The highest number of NOCs for 68 countries in the current fiscal year is 10,068 in Australia and 6,109 in Japan.
