KUUMAT Stands for Kathmandu University Undergraduate Management Admission
Test. KUUMAT is designed as an eligibility test for admission into KU’s
undergraduate management programs and is a compulsory requirement for applying
to get admission.
KU’s undergraduate management programs( BBA,
BBIS, BBA (Hons)/BBA (Emphasis) and BHTM are four-year intensive academic
programs spread over eight semesters of full time study.
Applicants
are tested for their aptitude to management study through a written Entrance
Test administered by the school. The test is designed to assess the
applicants’ ability in verbal and quantitative reasoning, data interpretation
and proficiency in English language.
EXAMINATION:
The
KUUMAT entrance applications is generally announced on the month of June and
the exam is generally held in the month of July.
STRUCTURE of KUUMAT
KUUMAT will be based on the following assessment domains:
1.
General SAT
2. SAT Mathematics Test
The KUUMAT shall comprise
of a single test, comprising of both the assessment domains. KUUMAT test
consists of multiple choice questions. There is negative scoring. For each
wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. That mean 4 (four) wrong answers
neutralize 1 (one) correct answer. Students must score at least 50% to qualify
for the examination.
ELIGIBILITY
Nepali and non Nepali
nationals with Plus two degrees or intermediate or equivalent level study
program of at least two-years' duration in any discipline with minimum of 50
percent in aggregate or CGPA of 2.0 on the scale of 4.0 and minimum 'C' grade
in each subject from a university/board recognized by Kathmandu University.
GCE advanced Level student should have passed minimum three subjects in A
Level and one general paper in AS Level with marks/grades requirements as
mentioned above. These criteria may change as per the school's decision during
admission time. University Application Forms can be obtained any time in the
year from the School of Management.
KUUMAT Course Duration
Generally, the entrance preparation course takes about 6-8 weeks with regular and monthly tests. The class duration is about 2- 2.5 hrs per day on Morning, Day and Evening Shifts which varies according to the institutes.
