Purbanchal University BSc Agriculture Colleges in Nepal Bachelor of Science (Honors) Agriculture programme

Being predominantly an agricultural country, the contribution of agriculture sector in the Nepalese economy needs no over emphasis. Despite the emphasis placed on agriculture development, the performance of this sector is far from satisfactory. Agriculture still today is characterized by traditional and subsistence farming. Coupled with this, there is an acute shortage of trained human resources in agriculture. Over the years, there has been a steady increase in the demand of qualified agriculturists, veterinarians and dairy or food technologists, although the Government of Nepal has given priority to agriculture in its development planning.

Students who have successfully completed intermediate of science programme (0+2 (Science), I.Sc., I.Sc.Ag. or equivalent grade) with second division are eligible to apply for BSc (Honours )Agriculture  programme. Admission is based on the merit secured by the applicants in the entrance examination conducted by Purbanchal University .There is a special provision for admission of in-service candidates in governmental or other institutional scholarship.
