University Controller of Examinations Pushparaj Joshi said that they have backtracked from the pre-decision to resume the postponed examination from the first week of Bhadra. He said that they are now in a state of waiting and watching to decide on the postponed examination. Various undergraduate and postgraduate examinations of the university have been postponed since last Chaitra. Following the government's request, the government had decided to postpone the examination on Chaitra 7.

The university has empowered the dean's offices to decide on the conduct of examinations in the aftermath of the corona virus. Deans have also said that they are not in a position to conduct the examination immediately.

Now, the possibility of the postponed examination taking place before the Dashain Festival is getting less and less. He said that it was not possible to take a decision about the examination in case of infection and in this case the schedule of conducting the examination would be pushed.

He said that even though preparations have been made to conduct the examination, the students could not be contacted and the examination could not be held unless there was a situation where public transport could be conducted smoothly.

He informed that the possible situation will be assessed after discussing the issue with the officials of the Ministry of Health. "Only then can we decide what to do," he said.

    Looking for alternatives
The university, meanwhile, has said it will consider a new alternative to conducting exams in the event of a re-closure.

Controller of Examinations, Joshi, said that an alternative to the examination would be sought if the situation arises again in a few months. At present, the university evaluates the students only through the examinations held in the physical presence of the students and assigns them to the upper grade.
