Oct 27: The National Examination Board (NEB) has made it mandatory to set up a
health desk at the exam center of the board examinations of grade 12 scheduled
to start from November 24 later this year.
The NEB published the
exam routine for the board examination of grade 12 students, which was put off
earlier due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a few days ago.
The board is
all set to conduct the examinations following all health safety protocols.
Among others, the health desk has been mandatory in a bid to curb the further
spread of COVID-19 and ensure no further transmission of virus.
As
per the Guideline on Evaluation, Exam Operation, Management, Record and
Verification of Secondary Education Qualification Examination 2020, the
exam centers are required to set up health desks in collaboration with the
respective local government and health institutions.
The guideline
requires the seat arrangement with a minimum of two meters gap between two
examinees. At the same time, not more than 20 examinees are to be placed in a
hall.
Owing to the fears of COVID-19 infection, the exams will be
held at the home centres seven months after its usual routine. The examination
will be of one-and-half-hour-long beginning from 8 am. The examinations will
be of 40 marks only. Of the remaining 60 percent, 40 percent will be covered
from the cumulative marks obtained in grade 11 and 20 percent from internal
evaluation, according to NEB.
Similarly, the board has directed
those students who have contracted COVID-19 not to attend the exams. The board
has announced separate arrangements for such students.
Also, the
board has directed those students who are unable to attend the examination
from their own colleges to participate in examinations as per the details
provided to NEB earlier.
