KATHMANDU, Oct 14: The Public Service Commission has started the
recruitment process of over 160 joint secretaries and undersecretaries toward
both technical and non-technical fields.
The commission has resumed
the process of recruitment of government employees which was halted nearly six
months ago due to the outbreak of coronavirus and subsequent measures to
combat Covid-19 pandemic.
After the government recently decided to
allow exams to be conducted, the PSC has started the process of the
recruitment.
Releasing a public notice on Wednesday, the PSC
announced vacancy for 25 gazetted first class officers (joint secretary level)
toward technical field and 15 gazetted first class officers (joint secretary
level) toward non-technical field.
According to the PSC notice, the
vacancy for 18 joint secretaries is for the administration service, with one
each for justice and law, government attorney, foreign and federal parliament,
among other services. The technical field recruitment is aimed at filling
vacancies for engineering, telecommunication, education and archaeology
services, among others.
The PSC has also started the recruitment
process to fill the vacancy for 89 gazetted second class officers (under
secretary level) toward technical side and 32 toward non-technical fields.
Most of the vacancies announced by the PSC toward technical fields are for the
judiciary, law and administration services while non-technical field vacancies
are mostly for engineering, civil, highway, general mechanic, education and
archaeology, among other services.
The PSC has also called the
vacancy for nearly 41 posts toward health service 11th level including chief
consultant general medicine, health medicine and forensic medicine surgery,
among others. Toward ninth level for health service, there are vacancies for
94 posts including consultant nephrologists, physicians, hospital nursing
administrator, among others.
The PSC has set November 3 as the
deadline to apply for these posts. However, any aspiring candidates for civil
service of senior rank official can apply by November 10 by paying double fee
for the application. The application fee for the joint-secretary level post
has been set Rs 1500 and Rs 1,200 for under-secretary level posts.
The
written exams for the joint secretary-level vacancies have been scheduled
between December 14 and mid January next year while the exams for
under-secretary level staff are set to be held between January 15 and March 5
next year.
According to the PSC, the applications can be filed
online via the commission’s online application system and application fees can
be paid through electronic payment medium.
Earlier last week, the
PSC released standing operating procedures (SOPs) to conduct exams during the
pandemic. The PSC’s SOP, however, bars those suffering from the coronavirus
disease to appear in the exams.
