SEE Results 2077 2078 with Marksheet

2 June 2021: SEE results on the basis of internal evaluation this year

Owing to increasing COVID cases and the subsequent restrictions imposed in many districts across the country, the government has decided to publish the results of Grade X students on the basis of internal assessment conducted by the concerned schools.A meeting of the Council of Ministers yesterday decided to follow last year’s modality for publishing SEE results this year too.

Last year, the government had published SEE results allowing the concerned schools to provide marks to their students on the basis of internal evaluation as the environment was not conducive for conducting exams in the physical presence of students.

The decision was taken in a bid to prevent the infection from spreading, according to the Ministry of Education.

Following the Cabinet’s decision, the Ministry of Education will write to the National Examinations Board to implement the government decision. This year, 517,000 students are preparing for SEE.

A few days ago, the National Examination Board, a federal board responsible for holding examinations of Grades X and XII, had written to the education ministry recommending it to conduct the exams through alternative method this year.

The NEB had postponed SEE exams indefinitely citing the surge in COVID-19 cases in the country. This year’s Grade X exams were scheduled to begin from June.

The government’s move allowing schools to provide marks on their own had received flak from various stakeholders as the schools were found to have manipulated their students’ marks.

As many as 9,019 students scored the perfect GPA 4.0 last year after schools provided marks to the NEB on the basis of internal evaluation.

This was an increase by over 8,400 per cent compared to 106 students who scored GPA 4.0 last year. Last year, there was an unprecedented increase in the number of students scoring top grades.

The government has also directed schools to begin the new academic year by the end of mid-July. Usually, the academic year of schools in Nepal begins from April.

However, this year, the government had decided to extend the academic year by two months due to the COV- ID pandemic.
