VACANCY NOTICE
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Head Office, Kathmandu, invites applications for the various Assistant and Officer Level Positions. The vacant position will be fulfilled by Open Competitive Examination for Permanent Appointment. The open competitive written examination will conducted by the Public Service Commission (Lok Sewa Aayog).
Position: Assistant and Officer Level Positions
- Level: 10th, 7th for Administrative Positions; 8th, 7th for Technical Positions
- Service/Group: Administration/ Accounting/ Misc., Technical/ Electrical/Civil/Computer Engineering/ Electrical/Mechanical/Misc.

Key Details:
- Type of Examination: Written, presentation (for posts where a presentation exam is mentioned), and interview.
- Syllabus: Can be obtained from NEA’s website www.nea.org.np.
- Probation Period: 1 year for general candidates, 6 months for female candidates
Examination Fee:
- For Level 10th: Rs. 2,000/-
- For Level 8th: Rs. 1,400/-
- For Level 7th: Rs. 1,200/-
- For Level 5th: Rs. 800
- If a candidate participates in more than one inclusive group for the same post, an additional fee will apply as follows:
-- Levels 8th to 10th: additional Rs. 500/- for each group
-- Level 7th: additional Rs. 400/- for each group
-- Level 5th: additional Rs. 300/- for each group
Age Limit ( as on application deadline 2082/10/08):
- For Officer level (Level 7 and above) the candidate should have completed 21 years and should not exceed 40 years, and for Level 5 the candidate should have completed 21 years and should not exceed 35 years
- For Assistant level, candidates should have completed 18 years and should not exceed 35 years.
- However, in the case of women and candidates with disability, the age must not exceed 40 years.
- No age limit will apply to permanent employees currently working in NEA.
Application Deadline:
- with Normal Fee: 2082/10/08 (22 January 2026)
- Extended Deadline (with double late fee): 2082/10/15 (29 January 2026)
