New Letter Grading Guidelines (Directive) 2083 has been approved on 2083/01/25 BS.
The SEE Grading System in Nepal uses a 4.0 GPA letter-grading scale. The Grade Point Average system is divided into eight different levels for regular and nine different levels for grade increment , which according to educationists, will help reduce educational disparity among students from different backgrounds..
Theoretical and internal assessment marks will be converted to grades. Failure to achieve 35% in any subject will result in a Non-Graded (NG) designation on the certificate.
Grade Improvement Exam:
In the case of Secondary Education Examination (SEE) Class 10, students who are absent from the SEE annual examination or have obtained NG in any subject will be allowed to appear in the grade-increment (chance) examination in all the relevant subjects. This arrangement applies only to students participating in the Grade 10 annual examination for the first time. This rule does not apply to Grade 12 Students appearing in the annual examination for the first time in Grade 12. These Grade 12 students are allowed to take a increment (chance) examination in a maximum of two subjects.
