Educational materials given to blind kids

The PLAN, Nepal, a non governmental organisation working in the welfare of the disabled children has distributed educational materials to the visually impaired children of Myagdi.The visually impaired children studying at resource centre for the disabled, Gyanodaya Secondary school, Rakhu Piple received the materials after a news item was published about the building of the differently able children. The news stated that the building had become useless for the visually impaired students.

At a programme organised at the school, PLAN, Nepal has presented Rs. 80, 000 worth hostel management materials and Rs. 30, 000 worth resource class management materials to the school authority in the presence of Bhim Prasad Tiwari, chief district officer, Dilnath Puri, District Education Officer and locals.
The school was also provided with rice cookers, gas cylinders, kitchen utensils, hangers, boot racks, bed and audio materials to the visually impaired.

The physically challenged people are very sensitive to their predicament and therefore they need regular supports, DEO Puri said. He added that struggling to get their own identity was the main challenge for the physically challenged.
