Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Human Resource Department, has published list
of holiday for the year 2083 B.S. for Bank and Financial Institutions. As per
NRB, banking sector employees will get 45 days of leave in 2083 BS.
This
year, 7 days of leave have been fixed for Dashain and 5 days for Tihar. As per
the agreement, banks will remain closed from Ghatasthapana on October 9 and
Phulpati on October 14 to Dwadashi on October 22. The bank holiday is also
given from Laxmi Puja on November 5 to Bhai Tika on November 10.
According to NRB, the central bank offices will remain open from
10 am to 5 pm from April 1 to October 29 and from January 1 to mid-March.
Similarly, banks will remain open from 10 am to 4 pm from November 30 to
January 29. The banks will be open from 10 am to 1:30 pm every Friday. The
banking transactions will be open from April 1 to Kartik 15 and from 10 am to
4 pm from Magh 16 to mid-March, and from Kartik 16 to Magh 15, from 10 am to 3
pm. Banking transactions will be conducted from 10 am to 12:30 pm on Friday.
The NRB bank holiday notice follows the government’s decision to
open essential service-providing institutions and organisations including
banks on certain public holidays announced by the government.
