The Government of Nepal has announced a new salary scale for government
employees including teachers working in community schools, increasing overall
monthly remuneration by around 21%, to be effective from Shrawan 1, 2083 (July
17, 2026). The basic salary increases by 10%, while an additional 10% monthly
incentive and the existing Rs. 5,000 dearness allowance together raise the
overall monthly remuneration by around 21%.
According to the new
schedule published by the Ministry of Finance, the salaries of community
school teachers from primary to secondary level have been increased .For teachers working in community schools, the salary for secondary level (first class) has reached 74,958 rupees, while the minimum salary for primary level teachers has been fixed at 34,426 rupees.

The
revision was unveiled by Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle while presenting
the FY 2083/84 national budget, marking the first major salary revision in
four years.
The Salary Scale below includes teachers working in community
school for various positions including:
- Primary Level : (S.L.C Pass (First Class), S.L.C Pass (Second Class), S.L.C Pass (Third Class), Two subjects S.L.C Non-passed and More than two subjects Non-passed); Consists of five years of education, from Grade 1 to Grade 5.

Lower Secondary Level : First Class, Second Class, Third Class ; The Lower Secondary level extends school education with
an additional three years from Grade 6 to Grade 8.
- Secondary Level : First Class, Second Class, Third Class ; The
Secondary level provides two more years of education from Grade 9 to Grade 10,
culminating in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).
