The Government of Nepal's Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the
number of public holidays for 2083 BS, which will begin on Baisakh 1,
2083 (April 14, 2026).
The Ministry of Home Affairs published a
notice in the Gazette on 18 Falgun 2082, stating that there will be a total of
52 public holidays from Baishakh 1 (14 April 2026) to the end of Chaitra (13
April, 2027).
As per the notice in the Nepali Gazette, there are 16 public holidays in the upcoming year marked for national festivals. Similarly, five days (Ashoj 31 - Kartik 6) for Dashain and five days for Tihar (Kartik 22 - Kartik 26) have been announced as national holidays. Officials inside Kathmandu valley will have four extra public holidays to observe Gai Jatra, Indra Jatra, Bhoto Jatra, and Ghode Jatra.
