The University of Sussex was the first of the new wave of UK universities
founded in the 1960s, receiving its Royal Charter in August 1961.
Sussex is a leading research university, as reflected in the 2008 Research
Assessment Exercise. Over 90 per cent of Sussex research activity was
rated as world leading, internationally excellent or internationally
recognized, confirming the University among the leading 30 research
universities in the UK, on a simple average across all scores. 18 subjects
rank in the top 20 for research in the UK, across the arts, sciences and
social sciences, with American studies ranked number 1 in the UK, Politics
number 2, and Art history number 3.

About Chancellor's International Scholarship (2023)
A limited number of scholarships are available to undergraduate
international applicants. These are highly competitive and only applicants
with excellent academic achievement and potential will be considered. If
you have excellent grades to date, you can apply for a scholarship after
you have received an offer to study at the University of Sussex in 2023.
Value
£5,000 per year of full time study
To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
> Be classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes
> Have received an offer of a place to study a full time Bachelors
degree at Sussex in 2023
> Be self-financing
> Have excellent academic grades (see 'Qualifications advice' for
indication of minimum grades required)
To be considered for the Chancellors International Scholarship, you need
to have received and accepted an offer of a place on an eligible course at
Sussex. Offer holders will be sent a link to the scholarship application
form online, after receiving an offer to study at Sussex.
How to apply
The Chancellors International Scholarships will open for applications at
09.00 am (GMT) on 12 April 2023 and will automatically close at 23:59 pm
(GMT) 26 April 2023.
The scholarship application will ask you for:
Personal details- such as UCAS PID, name, email address.
Education details- if you are currently studying or have finished
studying, your predicted or final grade.
A 500 word (maximum) supporting statement
Deadline: 26 April 2023 23:59
Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis, with first allocations
made in December 2021. The final deadline to apply is 1 August, however,
as all scholarships may have been assigned by then, you are advised to
apply as soon as possible.
