BACKGROUND AND JOB PURPOSE
Lead the Evidence, Policy and Innovations (EPI) Unit in WFP Nepal,
including advancing efforts with the Government of Nepal, United Nations
agencies and knowledge partners (research and academic institutions) to (1)
lead food security and nutrition policy coherence efforts in the Country
Office, (2) strengthen the capacities of national and local authorities to
prepare for and respond to food insecurity and emergencies (3) manage
evidence-based applied research projects, (4) and utilize the latest science
and technology to design, implement and monitor food security and nutrition
programmes.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Under the lead of the Deputy Country Director, the Head of EPI will report directly to the Head of Programme and work closely with the other activity managers in the Nepal Country Office.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Advanced University degree (Masters) in Public Policy, Public Health, Economics, Statistics, Nutrition or other relevant field. Technical qualifications in information management, database systems, web-based applications and related field are strongly preferred
Language: Fluency (level C) in English language is required.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
Experience: At least six to ten years of professional experience in international humanitarian assistance and development programming.
