Application Fee Details
- For Nepali Applicants: NPR 5,000/- (excluding additional service charges for card payment).
- For Foreign Applicants: NPR 8,000/- or equivalent amount (excluding additional service charges for card payment).

Application Procedure for Foreign Students
- Foreign applicants who wish to apply for reserved seats are requested to submit the online application form within the specified deadline along with chosen academic program, and should participate in the Commission’s entrance examination.
- A separate detailed notice in English for foreign students has been published on the Commission’s official website.

Entrance Examination
- The entrance examination will be of 3 hours, Computer-based (CBT) and full mark will be 200.
- Marking System: Each correct answer: +1 mark; Each wrong answer: –0.25 marks
- To be included in the merit list of the integrated entrance examination, a candidate must secure a minimum of the 50th percentile or above.
- Notwithstanding provision (5), if the number of examinees appearing for a program is less than double the available seats, then candidates who have scored 50% or more marks will still be eligible for inclusion in the merit list.

 Medical Education Commission invites online applications for the selection of candidates for the following bachelor level programs in medical education offered by various universities and academic institutions in Nepal.

Eligible foreign nationals Sub-category I: Foreign to appear in MECEE-BL 2026 are requested to submit applications with specified fee from 18 August 2025, 10:00 AM (NPT) to 07 September 2025, 5:00 PM (NPT) and by paying double fee until 14 September 2025, 5:00 PM (NPT). through the web portal https://entrance.mec.gov.np.

Candidates (Subcategory II: Foreign NOT to appear in MECEE-BL 2026) are requested to submit the application by paying specified fee from 18 August 2025, 10:00 AM (NPT) to 12 October 2025, 5:00 PM (NPT) through the web portal https://entrance.mec.gov.np.

Eligibility:
a) The candidate should have passed grade 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology by scoring minimum of 50% aggregate in total marks or CGPA 2.4 or equivalent.
b) Those who appear in the entrance examination conducted by the Medical Education Commission will be given the first priority.
c) If the seat falls vacant as stated in clause (b), matching will be done among those who have secured 50th percentile or above (or 50% marks in case the result is in percentage system) in the latest national-level medical common entrance examination in their respective countries and agreed on the condition to select only those seats which remain unfulfilled after a merit- based selection process from Subcategory I.
d) The remaining seats after completion of the matching of foreign candidates will be transferred to Nepalese-paying seats.
e) Foreign candidates who are selected for admission are required to submit original documents at the time of admission.
f) Candidates who submit fake information/documents will be liable for legal actions as per prevailing rules and regulations of Nepal.

Entrance examination and admission:
a) There will be 200 MCQS of 'single best response' type. One mark will be given for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for a wrong answer. The duration of examination will be 3 hours.
b) Candidates should score 50th percentile or above to be in merit list.
c) The selection of candidate will be done by the open house matching process.
d) There will be a separate merit list for each academic program. However, after matching and admission in an academic program, his/her name will be deleted from all the matching process.
e) Candidates who are selected for admission are required to submit original documents during admission in the university/academy.
f) Candidates will be responsible for all travel arrangements. Candidates should abide by the current rules and regulations laid down by the Government of Nepal.
g) Biometric of candidates will be taken during the examination date and verify during matching and after admission process.
h) Medical Education Common Entrance Examination Committee reserves all the rights regarding the entrance examination.

Nepali citizens who have passed Grade 12 but are under 16 years old can now apply for the common entrance exam using a minor's identification card, provided they fulfill all other qualifications.

b) BAMS, BSc MLT, BSc MIT, BSc Radiotherapy Technology, BPT, BPharm, B Optometry
The Candidates should have passed +2/Proficiency Certificate Level with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, securing at least 50% or 2.4 GPA/CGPA.

Entrance Examination
a. The entrance examination of all the above-mentioned programs will be written examination and consists of an objective-type questions. The answer sheet will be based on an OMR system.
b. The duration of the examination will be three hours, will have a full integer of 200 marks.
c. Each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
d. To be included in the merit list of the Common Entrance examination, candidates must score at or above the 50th percentile.
e. Notwithstanding clause (d), if the number of candidates appearing in the examination is less than double the number of available seats in a particular program, then candidates who score 50% or above marks will still be included in the merit list.
f. The candidates can apply for more than one program.

Fee for Bachelor Level Programs
The Medical Education Commission has established different fees for various programs. The MBBS fee is NPR 40,23,250 inside the valley and NPR 45,95,720 outside. BDS costs NPR 20,92,290, and B.Sc. Nursing costs NPR 10,36,000.

The Medical Education Commission has set a fee of Rs. 304,220 for M.Phil in Clinical Psychology programs, while the fee for all DM/MCh programs is Rs. 2,59,000.

MEC Academic Calendar 2081/82 (2024)

 The Medical Education Commission (MEC) of Nepal serves as the apex body responsible for regulating and guiding all aspects of medical education in the country. Established in 2014, it plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of medical professionals and shaping the future of healthcare in Nepal.

Medical Education Commission (MEC), Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, has published the yearly academic calendar (AMENDED) for 2081/82. The calendar includes the Medical Education Commission's integrated entrance examination for various Certificate Level, Bachelor Level, Postgraduate level and DM/MCh Level programs of medical education.

MECEE-BL of MBBS and BDS Program Result List 2024

The Medical Education Commission of Nepal has published the results for the Bachelor Level Medical Education Common Entrance Examination (MECEE-BL 2024). This includes scores for both MBBS and BDS programs.

The examination was held on the 4th and 5th of November 2023.

Candidates can now review their individual results by logging into their online profiles provided by the Directorate of Examination.

Candidates not satisfied with the result can apply with predefined format for re-totaling from 17th of November 2023 (10:00 AM) to 25th of November 2023 ( 4:00 pm).

1. MBBS
- Exam Date: 2080/07/18 (November 4, 2023); 11 AM to 2 PM

2. BDS    
- Exam Date: 2080/07/19 November 5, 2023);11 AM to 2 PM

3. BSc Nursing, BASLP, B Perfusion Technology
- Exam Date : 2080/07/20 (November 6, 2023); 11 AM to 2 PM

4. BAMS, BNS, BSc MLT, BSc MIT, B Pharm, B Optometry, BPT    
- Exam Date : 2080/07/21 (November7, 2023); 11 AM to 2 PM

5. BPH    
- Exam Date :  2080/07/22 (November 8, 2023); 11 AM to 2 PM

HOW TO APPLY
The eligible candidates can apply through online applications available at www.mec.gov.np or https://entrance mec.gov.np from Bhadra 17 2024 (September 3, 2023) at 10:00 AM to Ashwin 14, 2080 (October 1, 2023), at 5:00 PM (NST).

The entrance examination of all the above-mentioned programs will have a full integer of 200 marks and a duration of 3 hours. The candidates can apply for more than one program. However, a separate bank voucher and online application form must be submitted for each program.

>
National Medical Education Act 2075 has envisioned the common entrance examination to be conducted by the Medical Education Commission for enrollment of students in various programs and colleges throughout the country.
> All the candidates should fill up the online form as stated within the due date.
> Eligible candidates can apply for more than one program with separate bank payments as per the above examination schedule.
> Foreign candidates should choose one of the following options while filling up the online application form:
> Foreign to appear MECEE-BL 2024: Foreign not to appear MECEE-BL 2024 who has passed the national level entrance examination of their respective countries.

Note: There is a provision for editing applications and saving files before submission. Application once submitted cannot be edited. However, applicants can re-apply by uploading a new bank voucher/payment slip

The available seats for the foreign candidates in the above academic programs will be upto:
- 8.25% of the seats in Government colleges/Academies
- 33% of the seats in Private colleges are run by the Nepalese management team.
- 50% of the seats in Private colleges run by Nepalese and foreign management teams.

Medical Education Commission Academic Calendar 2079/80

Medical Education Commission (MEC) has published annual academic calendar for the year 2079/80. The calendar is based on the annual activities of the Commission. It includes a common entrance examination which will be taken by Medical Education Commission (MEC).

The results of the entrance examination, admission, class conduct, annual examinations, etc. will be conducted in accordance with the new calendar.
